Around this time of year, as opportunities for dining outdoors gradually dwindle, we find ourselves with a hankering for restaurants with enclosed, heated, backyard gardens–and, of course, sausage. Mornings at Morgane in South Williamsburg are the perfect answer to this irksome predicament, be it a lazy Sunday brunch or that midweek A.M. meeting (no need to rush, though–breakfast is served daily until 4, or 5 on weekends). Ask for a side of Schaller & Weber bangers or cheddar brats with scrambled eggs or as an accompaniment to just about anything–their menu is complete with French toast, French fries (truffle-oil, please!), and the unexpected and delicious French-Moroccan tagines and couscous. The substantial bistro fare will fill you up right, and the cozy pseudo-outdoor atmosphere will encourage you to stay for that second cup of joe as you happily digest.
